What is a 'Trial'?
The formal court proceeding to decide your case.
A "trial" is the formal proceeding where evidence and arguments are presented to a judge and, in some cases, a jury, who will then render a final decision. Deposition testimony is every bit as important as live testimony at trial and can be used in court if your testimony changes.
While it is what most people think of when they imagine a lawsuit, very few employment cases actually go to a full trial. The vast majority are resolved through settlement, mediation, or other means.
